Stillness in the Shift: A February Reset
Stillness in the Shift: A February Reset
Gasp! It is already mid-February. Before the month slips away and we find ourselves caught in the usual rush of the year, I’d like us to pause for a minute. If you feel like you haven't quite "started" your year yet, or if those January resolutions already feel like a distant memory—take a deep breath.
We are exactly where we need to be.
There is a beautiful second chance waiting for us. With the Chinese New Year beginning on February 17, the universe is offering us a fresh slate. It is a reminder that we can always be intentional with how we begin, no matter what the calendar says.
A New Love for Sharing 📝
Lately, I've found myself falling back in love with writing. I remember discovering this joy back in fifth grade—we called it "Composition" then. I wrote about the first summer my whole family was finally back together, and my journal became my lifeline through the years.
Something has shifted now. Writing no longer feels like something I have to keep to myself in a locked diary. Instead, it’s become a way to reach out and send a big, warm hug from my heart to yours. It feels vulnerable to share my words, but leaning into this encouraging community feels genuinely warming inside. I am doing it for me, but my deepest hope is that you feel that warmth, too.
Small Habits, Deep Roots 🌅
A new beginning always feels like a fresh breath of hope. This year, my partner, Yan, and I are focusing on intentional eating—food that doesn't just taste good but feels good inside. It’s a promise to be kinder to our bodies, and while it takes discipline, I truly believe anything is possible when we do it together.
I want to propose that we become each other’s Accountability Buddies—the mindful way. Instead of the usual "go to the gym" or "grind harder," let’s try habits that help us look at our lives with more joy, peace, and acceptance.
Here are five small, loving habits I invite you to try as we reset this February. Choose just one to carry with you:
Complain Less: Try to reduce the energy spent on the weather, traffic, or things outside your reach. Re-focus that power on something within your control.
Shift Your Attention: Worry less about how others perceive you. What they think is their journey; how you see yourself is your work. Let’s lean into that inner work instead.
Choose Your First Words: Let the first thing you utter in the morning be something beautiful: “Thank you,” “I love you,” or “I am alive.” You get to set your frequency for the day.
Breathe Before Doing: Take 5 deep, slow breaths before starting a chore, a difficult conversation, or opening your laptop. Think of it as a micro-reset button for your nervous system.
Tiny Gratitude Focus: Notice one thing so small it usually goes unseen: the sunlight on a leaf, the scent of clean laundry, or a stranger's smile. Pocket that joy and carry it with you.
Let’s Journey Together
Which one feels like a "yes" for you? Let’s pick just one intentional habit to cultivate as we move into this new cycle.
If you’re looking for a space to practice these habits in person, remember that our Monthly Meditation Circle is happening on February 28 in Tagaytay. It is a quiet, inviting space held in a high frequency, designed for you to land exactly as you are.
And if you can't make it to Tagaytay, you can always join our online community, Healing & Rising, where I share free meditation recordings to support your practice at home.
What do you say? Are you in?
With love and grace,
Ness
